Our Background

MAPO LLC was founded by two long-time colleagues in 2023 to provide a place for innovative platforms to exist. Our team's background in technology, business, and recreation gives us a holistic approach to building and designing out platforms.

What We're Working On

MAPO was born out of our personal need to have better public safety and recreation data. We're currently proud to offer three great services as a part in our overall mission.

The Most Comprehensive Wildfire Map

Wildfire mapping is our primary public safety focus. Our only goal mapping wildfire data is to have one, standardized place for everyone to get information on "what's on fire." Of course, we didn't stop there. Over the last few years we've made Map of Fire the most comprehensive wildfire mapping tool available with over 30 data layers available. Map of Fire is currently available on any device's browser with an Android-exclusive app coming Summer 2025.

Map of Fire app

OregonRoads: Do a tripcheck

OregonRoads is our first mobile app, exclusively for Android, we've released. Using data from the Oregon Department of Transportation we created a user-friendly app that lets you follow road conditions, current weather, and roadside cameras. But, we took it another step and built in notifications that advise of changing conditions for areas you're interested in. Currently, nothing similar exists for travelers in Oregon.

Recreation Mapping: Map of Trails

Map of Trails is the reinvention of a previous company called La Grande Ride. Since the early days of La Grande Ride, we've really upped our recreation mapping with the help of MapBox and other improved technologies. A lot of trail maps Currently exist, but they're in PDF—an unhelpful format for those hiking, mountain biking, etc. Map of Trails lets you see accurate, on-the-ground tracks, photos, and other important data like avalanche shading for backcountry snowmobilers.
